I wrote a vignette in the form of an absurdist play called On An Ancient Farm (Mostly Dialogue) for Erin Harrison, who came up with the concepts in the title, adding that there shouldn't be any talk of war or old people. She then created these wonderful drawings depicting the major events of the story. The power in her art comes from the combination of simplification and elaboration, of refined ornateness teased out of the fewest possible lines.
The protagonists of On An Ancient Farm are Amitai and Vera from Memento Mori, one of my first attempts at a novella.
